Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Curriculum Development

Advancing Inclusive Education in Egyptian Public Universities

At EducQuest, we have been actively engaged in designing and developing Universal Design for Learning (UDL) curriculum as part of the U.S.-Egypt Higher Education Initiative (HEI), Public University Scholarships Program. This initiative, funded by USAID, supported by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education, and administered by Amideast, is shaping the future of inclusive education in Egypt.

What We’ve Achieved

We have taken the lead in developing and refining training curricula tailored for university faculty, DSC managers, and support staff. Our approach integrates UDL best practices, ensuring that learning environments are not just accessible, but also engaging and adaptable to diverse needs.

What We’ve Achieved

We have taken the lead in developing and refining training curricula tailored for university faculty, DSC managers, and support staff. Our approach integrates UDL best practices, ensuring that learning environments are not just accessible, but also engaging and adaptable to diverse needs.

Some of the key areas we have worked on include:

Structuring comprehensive training programs to equip disability center leaders with the knowledge and skills to create inclusive learning spaces
Developing standardized materials, including trainers’ and participants’ guides, instructional PowerPoints, and assessment tools
Embedding UDL principles into curriculum design to support flexible, student-centered learning
Creating interactive learning experiences using real-world case studies, gamification, and digital tools
Ensuring all content meets international accessibility standards and aligns with Egypt’s national strategy for disability inclusion
