EducQUEST Foundation is proud to present an integrated curriculum designed for children aged 4 to 6 years. This initiative is a collaborative effort with the Association for the Protection of the Environment from Pollution, targeting students in the Mansheyet Nasser area and the Zabbaleen neighborhood in Cairo. The project is generously sponsored by the Sawiris Foundation and the Bank of Alexandria.
The curriculum framework was meticulously developed and its implementation supervised by a distinguished group of specialists, ensuring it meets the specific needs of children in marginalized environments. Based on core values identified through a comprehensive needs assessment, the curriculum integrates social concepts within the Arabic language subject and scientific concepts within the arithmetic subject. Additionally, English language materials were crafted to incorporate general values and behaviors.
Several innovative strategies were employed in the development of the curriculum, including:
- Topic-based learning
- Story-based learning
- Conceptual learning
The curriculum, named “Together Curriculum,” comprises the following components:
Together we understand and learn: Arabic language and social concepts
Together we explore and create: Mathematics and scientific concepts
Together: English language
In addition to the curriculum, a policy guide for working with children was prepared, and teachers received training to effectively implement the program. This holistic approach ensures that the educational needs of children in these communities are met, fostering a supportive and enriching learning environment.
